S Buys Training & Development Academy (Pty) Ltd was established in 2000 with its main aim being the upliftment of employees of the S Buys Group. In 2001 a need arose in the market place for training outside the company borders. Our Academy took on this challange and was registered with the South African Pharmacy Council  (ETQA) as a training provider.
 
Through registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (ETQA) as a training provider the academy enjoys the accreditation of SAQA. Its ultimate aim is the social upliftment of all South Africans within the health sector.

Dispensing course for healthcare professionals

According to the Medicines and Related Substances control Act, (Act 101 of 1965) as amended, any healthcare professional that intends to dispense medicine, must complete a supplementary course in dispensing and subsequently be licensed by the Director-General of Health in order to dispense medicine.

The S Buys Training and Development Academy (Pty) Ltd., has developed this supplementary course.  The course is accredited by the South African Pharmacy Council as well as the HPCSA as a CPD course and is worth 50 points.  Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will be issued with a certificate in Dispensing for Health Care Professionals where after they need to apply for a license to dispense medicine with the Director-General of Health.

Pharmacist’s Assistant course

S Buys Training and Development Academy is registered as a provider with the South African Pharmacy Council to present the Basic as well as Post-basic level Pharmacist’s Assistant courses. After successful completion of the course, a person will be able to register with the SAPC as a qualified basic / post basic pharmacist’s assistant

Both courses are supported by workshops.  Summative assessments and workshops are conducted in all provinces except the western Cape where they have an agreement with Comficor.
